Mission Statement
Project Restoration Outreach Ministries, Inc. is an organization that foster community change and transform lives through training, seminars, workshops, mentoring programs, community services and economic development. Project Restoration Outreach Ministries, Inc. believes that through effective training and development programs people who live in impoverish and low income areas can be successful.
Its further purpose is to improve the conditions of work, play, study, health and living conditions of the people of Houston, Texas and in particular those residents of the Third Ward Area through an expert and effective program of social services. In carrying out its purpose, the organization strives to develop programs of cultural enrichment, crime prevention, recreation, neighborhood assistance, housing assistance, employment and work referral of work related programs together with other social services
as may be deemed necessary or expedient to assist impoverish, underprivileged or socially disadvantaged individuals.
Current and past activities include a Food Pantry Program in which food is distributed weekly for needed families. Special food drives are conducted during the holiday season for families in need. Blankets for the homeless are contributed monthly. Also a clothing drive for homeless and disadvantaged individuals is conducted during the holiday season. A toy drive is conducted during the holiday season. Training and instructional workshops are conducted monthly that address community issues such as neighborhood drug problems, sexually transmitted diseases, identifying crack houses in the community, prostitution, neighborhood clean us initiatives, crime prevention, unemployment issues and identifying elderly issues just to name a few.
